Complex is a research journal on the Digital City and Planetary Architecture. It is edited and published by Living Systems, featuring contributors from various academic and applied disciplines, such as data scientists, robotic engineers, forestry experts, sociologists and behavioural psychologists.
Complex understands the city as a public sphere, and believes in citymaking as a public process, open to participation by every stakeholder – from policy makers to planners and citizen alike.
Intended as an educational resource for everyone, the journal is structured in thematic series, featuring in-depth investigations and data-visualisations to convey the conceptually and technologically complex methods, that are required for the making of future cities.
We publish at an ongoing but irregular schedule, based on the pace at which we generate these insights in our applied practice.
We are open to receive proposals for investigations at an ongoing basis. Whether you are a researcher in a relevant field, a citizen with a curious mind, or a policy maker with a craving for public exchange – please do reach out.
